I spent another couple hours up at Adams today reclaying my valve clearances. I took a little more material out of the valve reliefs on every piston to ensure max clearance when everything expands from heat. Littlewhitecrx and I also maxed out my timing in both directions with v-TAK engaged. I have plenty of clearance in both directions so we sent the head off to be milled some more. It was in need of a resurfacing and itll help just a tiny bit with the compression bump.

Ohh and my new rings showed up today so all that is left is a final assembly, drop it in the car, install the MSD, and lots of Dyno time.

Disco, while claying your motor, don't use so much clay, follow this link, perfect for how to clay your motor.

ok so all the claying is done and I got the rings gapped and on the pistons. And I got the pistons in the holes. But thats all I was able to get finished today so itll be some more time before the car is running.

Ok I got off early today so I seized the opprotunity to run on up to Adams in C-view and try to finish up my motor. I did manage to get everything done that I needed to get done at the shop. I cleaned everything again and set the new head gasket in place and the dowel pins in there holes. Then I set the freshly milled head down gently and lubed up the head bolts. I tourqued it all down and set the cams and misc caps in place. Once it was all tourqued down I had to set the valve lash. If youve ever done this you know its a PITA.

So now ive got to finish up the intake mani plumbing and a few other little things like bolting on the flywheel and clutch. Ive got to set up the MSD system and do some break in. Then its time to hit the Dyno and make some serious numbers. We made 163hp on motor last time and now were hopin to make at least 15 more. We will see you never know. Im sure itll come to life more from just the cams themselves the lift was a huge difference from my old ones.
